This searchable Hancock database includes names of Shakers who lived at Hancock between the early 1780s and 1960. Shaker historian and author Priscilla Brewer originally compiled the information from a variety of sources, including Shaker journals and daybooks, account books, newspaper articles, and Shaker records held at the Western Reserve Historical Society (OH), Shaker Museum | Mount Lebanon (NY), Winterthur Library (DE), Williams College (MA), and Berkshire Athenaeum (MA). Several researchers have added their findings to the list since its creation, most recently the Shaker historian and author Glendyne Wergland. The database includes the most current information available, but is not exhaustive or complete.
