200th Birthday of the Round Stone Barn – August 2

Join us for Community Day at the Village to recognize the 200th birthday of the iconic Round Stone Barn! We will celebrate with live music, special performances, food trucks, ice cream, discovery tours, & other kid friendly activities!
In addition to exploring the historic Shaker buildings, walking the gardens & trails, and visiting the farm animals, below is a schedule of the special events planned throughout the day:
11am: Special tour of the Round Stone Barn
11:30am: Introduction to the Shakers, Brick Dwelling
12-2pm: Tanglewood’s Instrument Playground for Kids
1pm: Water Turbine Demonstration
1pm: Beneficial Bats program with Mass Audubon
1:30pm: Shaker Music & Dance Demonstrations
1:30-2:30pm: Ida Mae Specker Trio perform in the Round Stone Barn
2:30-3:00pm: RSB Birthday Remarks and birthday cupcakes (200 first come, first served!)
3:30-4pm: Tanglewood Music Center Fellows – Brahms performance in the Round Stone Barn
4pm: Special Tour of the Round Stone Barn
4:30-5pm: Boston University Tanglewood Institute performance on the deck of the Visitor Center
