Shaker Geology Walk
Sunday, September 13
10-11:30 am
Fee: none (NOTE: This walk does not include general admission to the Village. Admission to the Village can be purchased after the Walk.)
This walk honors the 200th anniversary of the Round Stone Barn. Spend the morning exploring the rocks, stones, and landforms around historic Hancock Shaker Village and its Farm & Forest Trail, looking for evidence of glaciation, quarries, fossils, and other secrets of the earth. We’ll also marvel at the stone—and other features—of the Shakers’ Round Stone Barn, built 200 years ago in 1826. Wear sturdy footwear. 1.5 hours – approx. 2 miles. Please meet your guide at the picnic tables near the Leadership Parking Lot.
