Welcome the arrival of Spring with our BABY ANIMALS FESTIVAL! Meet our newest farm babies – lambs, piglets, calves, chicks and kids (goats, that is)--and enjoy events and activities throughout the Village, from daily talks about the farm and the Shakers to craft demonstrations to walks along the Farm & Forest Trail.
Follow the wool from sheep to cloak with demonstrations of sheep shearing by champion shearer Fred DePaul. A woolly, wonderful weekend of family fun with all the baby animals.
The first Shaker Supper of the season will be held in the 1830 Brick Dwelling dining room where the Shakers enjoyed their communal meals. Local Berkshire Chef Kevin Kelly, Founder of After Hours GB, will provide a creative dining experience based on Shaker inspired recipes.
Learn basic blacksmithing skills at the Village’s coal-fired forge.
Explore the construction of the iconic Shaker box in these two-day workshops.
The evening features Mary Ann Haagen, a Shaker scholar and musician who is actively engaged in the work of the Enfield Shaker Museum, giving a presentation focusing on Shaker music and food. Inspired by authentic Shaker recipes, the communal meal features meat and produce from our farm and other local resources prepared by Chef Peter Belmonte from Woodlife Kitchen.
There’s nothing like an inspiring outdoor yoga class (yes, with our goats). If you’ve never tried it, now’s the chance for a completely different yoga experience. Goats roam freely as you strike your poses with a certified yoga instructor. Bring a mat. All skill levels welcome.
