Artists from Home
Mary and Peter Rentz Welcome Center, outside Chace Gallery
Rotating exhibition, Hancock celebrates women artists from the Berkshires.
The “Artists from Home” exhibit in the Mary and Peter Rentz Welcome Center is currently showing works by college students. The artists are Avery Ball, a current student at Berkshire Community College, and Madelyn Croce, a 2024 graduate of Berkshire Community College and currently a student at Framingham State. Their professors’ have inspired the two artists’ works. Avery Ball, in her artist statement, states how she was able to continue to focus on her work because of the support she always receives from Lisa Griffith, her art instructor at BCC. Madelyn Croce has always loved birds and has the goal of becoming an exotic and avian veterinarian. Croce also attributes inspiration to her ornithology instructor Tom Tyning, when she attended Berkshire Community College. Madelyn’s paintings of birds and Avery Ball’s mixed media works of chickens are on view in October and November.
