Advanced Oval Box Making: Oval Carriers

Registration fee: $150, $135 members, plus an $80 cash-only materials fee, payable directly to the instructor. Includes admission to the Village
Make a nesting set of three oval carriers in this two-day workshop with instructor Bob Balcom. Participants will hone their skills in crafting swallowtails and bending bands while also learning how to bend the perfect handle for each carrier. This new workshop celebrates the spirit of the Village’s special 2023 exhibition, “Handled with Care,” which highlights Shaker handles of all sorts. Successful completion of an oval box workshop at Hancock Shaker Village or equivalent woodworking experience is required for participants in this workshop.
