This annual event celebrates Berkshire Cider Project’s years long partnership with the Village – an emblematic Berkshires institution and the oldest working farm in the region. Each year, the cidery creates a small batch cider made from apples hand harvested at the Village – heirloom varieties that are rarely grown in commercial orchards today. Wild fermented, this cider is likely close to what the Shakers themselves would have enjoyed – though filtered and carbonated for a modern table.
After cocktails in the beautiful working gardens, Chef Kevin Kelly, of AfterHours GB, will prepare a farm-to-table meal, served alongside hand selected cider pairings. Remarks from the Cidermakers will highlight the process of bringing this cider to life, from orchard to glass.
