We depend on the talents of hundreds of volunteers like you to develop and deliver programs, mount exhibitions, produce special events and manage our farm and gardens. You can volunteer every week or just once a year — whatever suits your schedule! The opportunities include:
Greeter Welcome arriving visitors and school groups, and help launch them on a memorable visit!
Interpreter Present Shaker history, lead guided tours or demonstrate a craft.
Gardener Help maintain our heirloom gardens or distribute produce to the members of our community-supported agriculture (CSA) program.
Farmer Support the barn staff by cleaning and caring for animals.
Office Assistant Help us behind the scenes with administrative tasks.
Curatorial Assistant Assist with HSV collections and exhibitions, including research and data entry, clean period rooms or arrange artifacts for display.
Facilities Assistant Help with simple carpentry, repairs or other essential tasks throughout our 20 historic buildings.
Special Events Assistant Join us at one of our fairs or festivals to help with children’s activities, parking, or set-up and break-down.
