Art on the Farm

July 15-19 (for children entering grades 1-6)

Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm

Beyond screens, mass media, and today’s craziness, a wild world of creativity awaits. Guided by outsider artist and Grammy-nominated musician Karl Mullen, your child will dive deep into nature to practice active listening, slow looking, forest bathing, and expansive art and music making. As they learn to be and explore together in the outdoors, students will draw outside the lines, make sculptures with sticks and stones, sing with the wind, write songs of the earth, and get delightfully messy along the way.

Summer on the Farm

Session 1: July 22-26 (for children entering grades 2-4)

Session 2: July 29-August 2 (for children entering grades 4-6)

Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm

History comes alive as you spend a week at our vibrant farm and village.  Pitch in and help our farmer care for  the sheep, chickens, and other animals during morning chores. Get dirty with our gardener (farmher) as you help her tend to our vegetables and herbs. Work side-by-side with village crafters to make a basket, work with wood, spin wool, and sample other Shaker crafts. Imagine life in the 1800s as you ring the Dwelling bell, bake in the kitchen, sing, and have fun with new friends.
