DESCRIPTION:Broom Workshop:  Short Wooden Handled Hearth Broom \nDATE: Sunday\, October 25\, 2026 \nTIME: 1-4 pm \nREGISTRATION FEE: $70/$63 for HSV members; all materials included. Includes admission to the Village \nThis delightful wooden handled broom is a fun mid-size broom that has multiple uses. You will make a short handled broom with a finished smooth wooden handle and all natural broom corn. You will have your color choice of nylon string and a small bunch of either black or red broom corn to add a splash of color or mix into your broom.  \nIn this workshop you will learn how to hand tie your broom to the handle\, then how to sew the broom together. This broom is a very handy size for sweeping front porches and staircases and cleaning around furniture and hearths. Children love them\, too. DESCRIPTION:Woven Holiday Ornaments \nDATE: Saturday\, November 21\, 2026 \nTIME:  10 am-1 pm \nREGISTRATION FEE: $30/$27 for HSV members. Includes admission to the Village. \nMATERIALS FEE: $25 materials fee payable directly to the instructor on the day of the workshop. \nParticipants will make three woven ornaments\, perfect for the holidays.  The ornaments include an eight-pointed snowflake; a puffy heart\, woven in thin maple strips; and a reindeer woven in dyed reed. \nINSTRUCTOR: A basket maker since 1995\, Sandy Salada weaves a variety of baskets\, including patterns of her own design\, patterns by other teachers\, and reproductions of cultural and historical baskets. Sandy teaches in her home studio as well as at Shaker Heritage Society in Watervliet\, New York\, and at Hancock Shaker Village. \nREGISTER HERE
