Includes Village admission. \nMATERIALS FEE: $20 (cash only) payable directly to the instructor  \nLearn basic blacksmithing skills in a private lesson at the Village’s coal-fired forge. Working alongside one of the Village’s experienced blacksmiths\, learn to manage a coal forge fire; heat stock; form the stock using tools such as hammers and anvils; and complete finish work (which includes operating an electric grinder). No previous experience required. New participants will make two J hooks. Includes admission to the Village. \nMATERIALS FEE: $20 materials fee payable directly to the instructor on the day of the workshop. \nThis twill woven waste basket begins with a solid woven base. Then the twill pattern\, woven in natural reed\, continues up the sides. Optional staining or dying the basket\, on your own\, will be discussed. No experience needed\, suitable for ages 14 and up. \nBasket size: 8.5” tall by 9” diameter. \nINSTRUCTOR: A basket maker since 1995\, Sandy Salada weaves a variety of baskets\, including patterns of her own design\, patterns by other teachers\, and reproductions of cultural and historical baskets.
